#30 for the 30 Paintings in 30 days challenge
Last one for the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. What a long journey this has been for my first time. I tried to keep these fairly simple, all finished within a short fraction of time; but it was a very complicated project. I'm pretty happy with myself that I stuck with it; I'll admit that there were many occasions that I had no time for this and so I created some loose abstract pieces. However this has been one thing I've really enjoyed with taking up watercolor-you're almost forced to let go and free to just let the paint do the work. I can't wait to now focus my experience and energy to some bigger pieces, sticking with the watercolors.
Thank you so much to everyone who's followed along. I'll continue to post works-in-Progress of pieces to come :)

#9 "Mr.Moon" 30 Painting Challenge
Watercolor 5x7
#30paintingsin30days
My daughter was never a good sleeper. Most of the time she never slept. I started realizing that when the moon got fuller she stayed awake more and more (we had black out curtains threw out the house). So instead of fighting it; I showed her the moon. At 8/9 months she tried always to see him! We always said hello and goodnight! By 2 there was no loss in the connection with that moon. She started to scare us when driving screaming 'mommy/daddy' with a calm drop "do you see Mr. Moon". Still now when Mr.Moon appears we say "hello", "how've you been?",and "goodnight"; and still sometimes she blames him for why she's awake.

#5 cabin in the woods -30 Day painting challenge
I'm learning that this collection is turning into pieces I enjoy to paint, pieces that show the love I have for nature, and my wishes to one day have that nature surround me while I paint pieces I love!

Work in progress portrait b&g
So trying to continue to do some work in progress shots as I continue this strange adventure of being an artist.
So this one was a model from Sktchy (I totally recommend getting your hands on this app!) I did this in ink and colored pencil on toned paper. The shots are not the best because I'm using a TruLight and for some reason it absolutely hates being used for pictures.
I always start portraits by using the rule of thirds to map out the face. (not shown here but I'll be doing that in one of my next examples)( here's a good gist of what I mean). Once I get everything drawn out and happy with the look at the layout I start blocking out some of the darkest spots that need to Pop.(1) This gives me a good sense of direction to how the layout is holding together. I then start to alternate back and forth between pen and my prismacolor black (I only used white and black colored pencils with micron ink pen for this piece).(2) I use a soft circular motion to build up the black colored pencil pigment. Once I'm satisfied and done with all of the gradations I put a little burst of white.(3) This is the most exciting part. These little spots of White are very minimal and not to heavy! They are located along the cheek, a little in the eye, a smidge on the lip, and lightly threw little parts of the hair as well as a tiny dot on the nose. And Done!
I hope you enjoy! Better pictures will be posted soon to my website

Pool stick design
This was a new one!!! I was commissioned to do the bottom handle of a pool stick with a rose line design. So I did a little Flash Tattoo inspired illustration. It'll be a collaboration piece with a craftsman who is going to line it with One shot. His pool sticks are amazing. I can't wait to see how this comes out.

Lady in Turban
Here's my second watercolor portrait. I had a lot of fun working with this one. It was interesting playing with levels and layers of color.
So for this piece I used Winsor Newton Cotman pans and tubes. (Mostly pans) cad. Yellow, sap green, burnt umber, cad pale hue, alzarian Crimson, and ultramarine. Where the only colors for my pallet. On Strathmore paper.

Portrait of daughter
This is my first watercolor portrait (at least since high school if I did it then). It's of my daughter -this is her "focused" face. She was actually opening up some Chapstick when I shot this; which is one of her favorite things ever...lol. This is going to be a Valentine's gift for my husband. <3 Thanks for looking :)
